A couple of weeks ago, I shared the story of how a car ride to a hockey tournament turned into a community movement for the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM). Thanks to this incredible community, we raised a staggering $17,700.
To celebrate that milestone and say a massive thank you, my family and I headed over to the local print shop that made it all possible.
Meeting the Heroes Behind the Screens
To say I am grateful for the team at Afternoon Printing in South Minneapolis would be an understatement. A couple of weeks ago, we went into the shop to finally meet Kristen and her crew in person.
They were all so kind. They mentioned they couldn’t believe just how many Rebel Loons had been flying through their shop over the past week. Despite being incredibly busy, Kristen took the time to show my girls the entire screen-printing process—from burning the screens to curing the new ink. I cannot thank her enough for giving them that experience. My girls absolutely loved it!
“Dad, she’s here picking up a Rebel Loon!”
While we were in the shop, there were folks coming in to pick up their orders. At one point, my youngest, Ellie, saw a lady picking up a Rebel Loon order and whispered to me, “Dad, she’s here picking up a Rebel Loon!” I let her know that all of those people were, and you could just see her face light up by that realization.
It was amazing to see complete strangers who felt like they needed to help in some way, and do so by joining Rebel Loon run. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who ordered.
The Rebel Loon is Flying Again
As mentioned earlier, the Rebel Loon is going to fly again. The store is officially back open for a short second run.
Here are the details:
- The Deadline: The store is open now and will remain open until Sunday, March 15th, 2026 at 11:59 PM CDT.
- The Donation: Just like last time, all donations will be going directly to the ILCM.
